REMEDY DRIVE FINDS A LABEL HOME AT WORD RECORDS

Four-Brother Band Releases National Debut, Daylight Is Coming, Aug. 26

Remedy Drive (NASHVILLE, Tenn.) April 18, 2008—Lincoln, Nebraska’s four-piece, four-brother rock band Remedy Drive recently settled into its new label home at Word Records. The group will release its first national album, Daylight Is Coming, on Aug. 26.

David (vocals, keys, guitar), Philip (bass, vocals), Paul (guitar, vocals), and Daniel Zach (drums) originally began playing together in college around Lincoln, Nebraska. It wasn't until 2003 that the band now known as Remedy Drive ventured outside its stomping grounds into territory spanning the Midwest and West Coast. In the last two years, Remedy Drive has performed more than 200 shows annually, including concerts at festivals, colleges, camps, conferences and churches. The band’s indie release, Rip Open the Skies (2005), has sold more than 20,000 copies to date, and the brother foursome continues to win fans nationally with its strong vocal harmonies and piano-driven rock sound.

Otto Price, vice president of A&R for Word Label Group, comments, “I grew up in the Midwest and know how discriminating the music scene is there. For a band to be successful in that part of the country, especially a Christian artist, they have to possess ingenuity and a tough work ethic. Remedy Drive’s relentless motivation combined with an energetic family dynamic that makes for an amazing live show was more than enough to catch our attention. We’re excited to have them on board.”

“Remedy Drive has always been four guys around an idea,” says lead singer David Zach. “We had reached a point where we knew that there was only so much we could continue doing on our own. We feel really blessed to have such a great opportunity and are excited to be a part of the Word family.”

Produced by Ian Eskelin (Everyday Sunday, Stellar Kart), the band’s first project with Word Records, Daylight Is Coming, will release Aug. 26. Meanwhile, Remedy Drive will highly involved in Gospel Music Week 2008, including a Sunday night showcase at The Rutledge, as well being featured at major festivals Spirit West Coast, Higher Ground, Lifelight, Ichthus, Crossover, Night Vision, and Rock The Light this summer. Word Records is a part of Word Label Group, a division of Word Entertainment, a Warner/Curb company. The artist roster heralds some of today’s top Christian music performers and songwriters including Mark Schultz, Point Of Grace, Building 429, Nicole C. Mullen and Stellar Kart. The Word Label Group leads the industry with over 50 years of music-making history.
